S.L. CHRISTLEY

My writing style is...
Personification (attributing human characteristics to something that is not human). This style naturally finds its way and makes a home in my writing. Nature (sun, moon, stars) wildly reigns in each of my chapters as bringing in a character's environment to further develop the story is important to me.
Notions of discovery, embarking on a journey, and fulfillment are all relevant themes in my novels, short-stories, poems, and songs.

100 DOORS OF INSPIRATION
Confidence
"Quiet confidence is as humble as it is fierce."
Hope
"Seeds of hope build kingdoms of strength."
Love
"God's love is a gift we will never finish unwrapping."
A RELIC IN ALISIS WOODS
"The queen of the sky, the moon,
must know where all of my childhood wishes have gone. I shall go and speak to her on the night she is full just as the ancient elders told me so.
Truth will be restored."
"A cup of warm tea was a prerequisite whenever she told a story. Even the trees would arch in a little closer to listen to the wonder of her adventures as we walked the trails of the enchanted woods."
"Each painting is an extension of who
I am. There's just something relaxing and romantic about sitting in front of a blank canvas and painting a particular emotion. There's such vulnerability
and enjoyment."

THE CAT WITH THE PURPLE WHISKERS
"A real friend is someone who won't laugh at you, accepts you for who
you are, and will always be
there for you."

THE SILVER FEATHER
"The heroic stories of those who came before me walked the halls of my mind instead. Their search for truth and their silver feather inspired me to think of my own legacy and the history I wanted to leave behind."

THE TRAVELING QUARTER FROM 1967

"Unable to see past the surface—past the scars, they judge without a rising curiosity to know the ports I’ve sailed to in my life. They see only that of which they choose to see forgetting how they too have a past. Masters of disguise, they hide their scars far better than I."
